Maria Hasenecz, the president, founder and lead designer of Livable Landscapes Inc has a strong education and background in horticulture. She has 18 years of gardening and landscaping experience. Her formal education includes a Bachelor of Science in Business Marketing from Drexel University and a Bachelors degree in Horticulture from Temple University. Her passion for horticulture has resulted in attendance at numerous horticultural seminars, design and garden lectures, extensive horticultural research and reading, and plentiful ongoing visits to botanical gardens, arboretums and gardens domestically and internationally.
Maria is immediate past President and founder of the Pennsylvania/Delaware Chapter of the Association for Professional Landscape Designers. She currently serves on their board of directors. She is also a member of the Perennial Plant Association and the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society. Maria has also performed volunteer work for the Wyndmoor Civic Association, Pennsylvania Horticultural Society and Chestnut Hill Community Association. Livable Landscapes actively supports local schools and organizations with donations to silent auctions.
Livable Landscapes has been featured in articles that have appeared in Philadelphia Home and Garden Magazine, The Montgomery Newspapers and The Chestnut Hill Local Newspaper. The company has participated in the prestigious Chestnut Hill Holiday House tour. Maria's garden has been in the nationally distributed, This Old House Magazine, on garden tours and in publication.
